This week, while taking the time to honor and celebrate the contributions of the women in our industry, we’d like to highlight some of the exceptional women at Charter, giving some insight into their roles and career paths, and showcasing the strength and knowledge of women in industry, in alignment with this year’s WIC Week theme, “Keys to Success.”
Today we’re highlighting Diana Bruggeman, a dedicated Project Engineer, whose journey into the industry was inspired by family ties and a passion for hands-on work.
Diana’s interest in construction was sparked by her cousin’s career in the field, which led her to participate in a shadow program, where she experienced the day-to-day operations firsthand. Intrigued by the behind-the-scenes intricacies of construction, Diana pursued her undergraduate degree in applied math with a focus on engineering, followed by a master’s degree from Wentworth.
Drawn to Charter by its reputation for internal growth opportunities and collaborative work environment, Diana found a perfect fit for her aspirations. During the interview process, she was impressed by Charter’s emphasis on continuous learning and the company’s commitment to environmental impact through its projects.
In her role as a Project Engineer at our Lynn HarborPark project, Diana’s responsibilities are diverse and impactful. She utilizes GPS layout and AutoCAD to collaborate with the craft team and Superintendent, ensuring the project progresses smoothly. From coordinating material estimates, to uploading data to our site equipment, to running numbers for future phases, Diana’s contributions are instrumental in project success.
When reflecting on what sets her experience apart, Diana says, “I’m grateful for the camaraderie and mentorship I’ve found within my team at Charter. The welcoming atmosphere and support from colleagues have reinforced my decision to pursue a career in construction, making every day a rewarding experience.”
Thank you, Diana, for all your contributions to the success of our projects!
