Vice President, Human Resources and Administration
Lou Paress believes that Charter’s employees are among the best out there. But as Charter’s Vice President of Human Resources and Administration, he’s responsible for helping make what he refers to as “top shelf” employees even better. By encouraging, developing and empowering our company’s greatest assets, our employees, Lou adds significant value to Charter’s offering.
“Helping team members realize their potential can have a significant impact on the company.”
Over the more than two decades he’s worked in Human Resources, Lou has played an integral role in negotiating collective agreements, grievances, arbitrations, strikes and campaigns, while working to create the best possible employee experience at a wide variety of companies. When he went to work for Charter, the HR director was given a blank slate from which to position the company for growth. And he eagerly took on the challenge and, in turn, has helped Charter flourish.
Known for being fair-minded and honest, Lou is responsible for all the typical HR functions, including recruiting talent, the performance merit process and health and welfare benefits. But on top of that, he also works with vendors for strategic review and oversees Charter’s IT infrastructure, software, security and hardware and the company’s real estate portfolio.
