Upcoming Creek Restoration Will Bring New Life to Trenton, NJ

“This is a great day for the city. I’m delighted to see this come through.” – Mayor Eric Jackson

Since the late 90’s, Trenton, NJ has been trying to restore the Assunpink Creek, but with lack of funding the project was continuously delayed. Beginning this October, the wait will finally be over as Charter begins working on the three-phase restoration project. On Friday September 22nd, various officials, including Mayor Eric Jackson and Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Commissioner Bob Martin, came together to celebrate the start of the restoration and layout the work that is to come. Charter’s own Joe Murphy, the senior project manager for the project, addressed the crowd, acknowledging how our previous work experience, such as the Muddy River project in Boston will allow us to complete the Assunpink project successfully.

We are looking forward to working on this project and helping to transform this previous blighted area into a useable greenspace for the community of Trenton.
